These guys aim to expose a security flaw in the Tesla Model X. They have tested this on their own car but have no idea if other Teslas have the same issue. When their own Tesla's battery died, they were not able to get into the car at all. They asked Tesla and were shown this way to get into their dead car. Using a friend's Tesla, they test the method to see if it works on a charged car. They are able to get into the trunk, but the alarm does go off. While that is good news for anything you may have locked inside, that leaves anything in the trunk an easy mark. The lesson is, don't leave anything important in the frunk of a Tesla until this flaw can be addressed.
