College Grad Earns Job at Chip Ganassi Racing Thanks to This Viral NASCAR-themed Video

It's not often that making a viral video earns someone a job, but apparently Elijah Burke is one lucky guy, because a NASCAR-themed post-graduation video that he uploaded to Twitter back in May just earned him a gig at Chip Ganassi Racing.

In the video, the College of Brockport grad thanks all of the people who helped him over the course of his college career, all in the style of a NASCAR post-race interview, complete with a towel, sunglasses, cap, and a bottle of Coke.

"I can't thank all the guys back at the shop enough - Mom, Dad, Emma. The wife and kids I don't have at home," Burke says in the video. "All the sponsors that put everything into this - Quizlet, Netflix, Chegg, Rate My Professor, Dunkin Donuts, Monster Energy and Credit One Bank of course. Everyone who put so much energy into this."

The video almost instantly got Burke a response from NASCAR's official Twitter account.

Interestingly enough, Burke's inspiration for the video didn't come from a NASCAR driver at all, but from Atlanta Braves player Elliot Johnson.

"I had the idea for this type of video a few weeks before graduation," Burke told NASCAR.com back in May.

"I remembered Elliot Johnson from the Atlanta Braves giving a NASCAR-style, post-race interview after a game once; that made me realize you can truly apply the NASCAR interview to anything."

The College of Brockport alum's unorthodox technique definitely paid off, as the college just recently announced via Twitter that Burke, in fact, got the Chip Ganassi Racing job.
