This week UPS announced that their preliminary drone field test was a success. The special "big brown drone" launches from the roof of the classic "big brown truck." UPS collaborated with drone manufacturer Workhorse for the test where drones made package deliveries with the hopes of reducing total miles driven by the trucks particularly in rural areas. The drones can operate for up to 30 minutes while carrying packages up to 10 lbs before needing to recharge at its docking station.
