When you take your car to the mechanic, you should expect a decent degree of competence whether you go to a big-time chain operation or a small local spot. Sure, not all shops will give you five-star service, but there are a few things that every shop should ace every single time. Towing a vehicle from point A to point B is one of those things.

Unfortunately for one mechanic shop in Miami, Florida, they couldn’t even get that right.

The above surveillance footage shows the towing disaster unfold from start to finish, and, as one unlucky customer puts it in the YouTube video description, “My mechanic shop didn’t strap the car to the tow bed correctly.” If only that conveyed just how embarrassingly this tow truck driver messed up here.

First off, yes, the guy didn’t strap the customer’s car to the truck, and as a result, the car comes sliding right off the truck bed. The tow truck driver pretty calmly puts the customer’s ride in park, as if he’s made this mistake countless of times before.

So, after he puts out that fire, it’s right back to loading the car back on the truck, isn’t it? Crisis averted, right? Wrong. The dude ALSO forgets to apply the parking brake to his truck, causing it to keep right on rolling. Yikes. So, then he’s gotta chase down his own vehicle and stop the sucker right before it smashes straight into a parked van.

Needless to say, both the customer and another employee of the mechanic’s shop are pretty stunned at just how much could go wrong in so little time. What. A. Fail.
