Justin Lin (known for directing Star Trek: Beyond, It has begun: Bananapocalypse, and three through six of The Fast and Furious franchise) is returning to the long-running, street-racer fantasy series to direct the upcoming ninth and 10th movies.

Vin Diesel took to Facebook Live to make the announcement, during which he also revealed that Jordana Brewster, who played Mia Toretto, will be returning to the franchise. Brewster and Lin both appeared during the social media broadcast with Diesel.

Lin has already directed one of the series's most beloved installments, Tokyo Drift, but he'll undoubtedly be facing a lot of pressure to provide a fresh take on the series, while still maintaining everything fans have grown to love about The Fast and Furious.

Paul Walker's death will also be weighing on Lin. The series never truly bid Walker's character, Brian O'Connor, goodbye, so it'll be interesting to see how he directs the film towards saying farewell to such a beloved character.
