Driver fled from the police into the ocean where he was met by a bigger problem

Running from the police almost never ends well for the fleeing suspect. The police usually catch up, and they're probably a lot more angry after having to chase someone down.

One suspect decided to run from the cops after being pulled over and having "illegal contraband" in his vehicle, and his escape plan was to swim into the ocean. The driver, Zachary Kingsbury, was pulled over about 200 feet from the beach, so he decided to evade the Surf City Police Department in North Carolina.

Police tracked Kingsbury via drone, and he swam out about a mile off shore when they temporarily lost track of him.

The police weren't the only ones tracking Kingsbury down. According to WBTV News, a shark was spotted swimming parallel to Kingsbury.

Luckily for Kingsbury, the police got to him before the shark did. He was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.

Being arrested on all of those charges is still better than being attacked by a shark, though.
