Bumblebee will not be a Camaro in the new Michael Bay-free Transformers

The latest Transformers movie, "The Last Knight" didn't do so well when it opened earlier this month. The Michael Bay film has been getting some pretty bad reviews all stemming from pretty much what Bay does in every Transformers movie: Horrible attempts at comedy, too much CGI, a boring plot and the list goes on.

To add fuel to the fire, the next movie will be without a Camaro for the lovable character Bumblebee.
Next summer's movie is going to be a spin-off focusing on the relationship between Bumblebee and a 17 year old girl.  It's set in the 1980s and, if you remember the originals, you know Bumblebee was always a VW Beetle.

The Camaro isn't the only thing this movie will be without.  To some peoples's delight, Michael Bay himself won't be involved in this spin-off.  He is being replaced by former rapper and fairly new director Travis Knight.
It's going to take a lot to bring this franchise back to its Hay Day. Not sure if a Beetle is what it needs, but at this point anything is worth a try.
