What could be worse than going the wrong way? Well, going the wrong way in reverse. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let's back up, literally. If you've ever had car trouble in an inconvenient spot, say the interstate, then you know just how terrible it can be to wait for vehicle assistance. If you've experienced this in major traffic conditions, then you know that the wait time is drawn out even longer as you sit on the side of the road. However, some drivers just want to skip all that and wait in a more comfortable spot. That has to be what this SUV driver was thinking, right? Maybe.
The Ohio Department of Transportation posted the video on their Facebook page of a driver reversing the wrong way up an interstate entrance ramp and through a stoplight. It doesn't end there though, because the driver whips that SUV around the bend and down to a parking lot nearby. Lucky for us, it was all caught on camera.
What did the Ohio Department of Transportation have to say about this video game-style move? Simply this: "Pro tip, if your vehicle isn't running properly, pull safely to the side of the road and call for assistance. Thankfully no one was injured in this instance."
You might expect a video like this to end in a wrong-way crash with life-threatening injuries involving multiple vehicles, but this driver just seemed to be in bed with Lady Luck. Not only do they rip the SUV around the turns with ease, it even looks like a toy car moving through traffic in the right lane.
I've ready many a news release about four-vehicle crashes and scary wrong-way driver accidents from state patrols all over the country, but never have I seen someone navigate a vehicle through the crowd like this before. It's definitely not their first rodeo when it comes to driving in reverse...
