This DIY air conditioner should make all of the automobile MacGyvers proud. Most people will do anything for immediate relief from summer heat. This backyard scientist developed an unbelievably simple A/C unit that takes advantage of the 1974 VW bug's spacious trunk under the hood. With little more than a PVC pipe, an ice chest and an electric fan he's keeping his car nice and cool--but probably a little damp. It may not be the best way to keep your cabin comfortable, but kudos for the ingenuity.
