We've seen some crazy displays of speed and horsepower from just about every vehicle under the sun, but it's hard to not be blown by a Peterbilt 379 dump truck going well over 100 MPH on the highway. In a video posted by YouTuber IMSEMICRAZY, we saw exactly that, when a souped-up Peterbilt model put on an epic display of high-speed trucking dominance, smoke billowing and all.
According to one commenter with apparent inside information, the sleeper truck has a twin-turbo Caterpillar 15 engine with 1,300 horsepower and 3,200 Nm of torque, making the top speed somewhere around 124 MPH. Now, who knows how true that is, but one look at the above video, and it's clear this thing is definitely pushing triple digits.

Peterbilt 379 Trucks for Sale
For those who don't know, the Peterbilt 379 was a line of trucks by the Peterbilt division of PACCAR, and, like the Kenworth W900, is a popular model for truck customization. 379 models came equipped with a number of different powerful engines over the years, from the ISX to the Detroit Diesel. Though the conventional truck, which was made mostly for highway use, stopped being produced in 2007, it's still available for sale on a number of different sites.
This 2005 Peterbilt 379EXHD, for example, is available for $81,000. It has more than 750,000 miles on the odometer and is stocked with a 550-hp Caterpillar C15 engine. Drivetrain wise, it's got an 18-speed transmission, as well as a tandem axle, 275-inch wheelbase, engine brake, and engine overhaul. Judging from the pictures, it's got a sleek-looking exterior and wood grain interior. With power doors, power windows, and dual eight-inch exhaust side stacks, it even comes with a small fridge
Now, for those with a slightly lower price range when it comes to truck sales, this 2006 Peterbilt 379 is available for $69,000. It's got 660,000 miles on it and is stocked with a rebuilt Cummins 500 engine.
