I'm one of those people who will drive a car into the ground until it dies. I'll squeeze every mile possible out of it. I used to think I was pretty thrifty in that regard but this story about Bob Sportel's 1957 Half Ton Chevy Pick Up has me doubting just how much use I managed out of any previous cars I drove. Bob took a job in Prinsburg, MN back in his 20's and needed a simple car to get to work and bought the truck for $75. He's now driven it to work every day for 38 years, right up to the day he retired. The truck has no radio and the speedometer hasn't worked in 40 years but Bob doesn't seem to be ready to get rid of that old pick up any time soon.
