Tom McComas's father, also named Tom, "started a life-long passion for motorcycles" with his BMW R60 motorcycle. McComas remembers when his dad's old bike still had a sidecar attached to it, and relishes the memories of his father purposefully leaning the bike through corners so that the sidecar would be lifted up into the air. "[I]t's why I'm a Hollywood stunt man," he says of the bike his father passed down to him.
