Kyle Busch can extend his NASCAR record with Watkins Glen win

Kyle Busch has set multiple records during his time competing in NASCAR. He can actually extend one of his records with a win at Watkins Glen International.

If Busch wins Friday evening's Craftsman Truck Series race at Watkins Glen International, it will mark the 18th track at which he has won across all three national series. The two-time Cup Series champion has two Cup wins and one Xfinity win at the New York road course. He just needs the Truck Series win to complete the set and extend his record.

The tracks where Busch has already won across all three series include Atlanta, Bristol, Charlotte, Chicagoland, Daytona, Dover, Fontana, Homestead, Kansas, Kentucky, Las Vegas, Michigan, New Hampshire, Phoenix, Pocono, Talladega, and Texas.

Only two other drivers have achieved this feat more than four times. Kevin Harvick won across all three series at seven different tracks. Mark Martin did so at four different tracks.

Busch will not have an easy time trying to extend his NASCAR record. After all, this Friday marks his first Truck Series start at Watkins Glen International. He will also face off with Connor Zilisch, who makes a one-off start for Niece Motorsports, and Corey Heim, who is the first driver in series history to win three consecutive road course races.

Busch only has three road course starts in his Truck Series career. He finished third and second in his two starts at Circuit of the Americas, and he missed out on a win after late contact from Alex Bowman and Stewart Friesen. His third start took place at Sonoma Raceway, where he dominated by leading 45 laps and scoring the win.

"I've only raced on a road course in trucks a few times and this will be my first time in a truck at Watkins Glen," Busch said in a release from Spire Motorsports.

"You never know how the schedule falls each year with the trucks and which races I'm able to compete in and even which tracks are on the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series schedule, so it'd be cool to go out and add another track to the list where I've won in all three series across my career while I have the chance."
