After a four-year absence, Tony Stewart is returning to one of his favorite races

NASCAR legend Tony Stewart will return to the "Rumble in Ft. Wayne" after a four-year hiatus.

Stewart, a 10-time champion of the 20th annual race, is scheduled to partake in the festivities with a record 10 additional former champs, according to the News Sentinel.

Joining Stewart in the race will be the reigning Rumble champion Kyle Hamilton, five-time Rumble winner Billy Wease, three-time winner Russ Gamester, two-time winners Dave Darland and Justin Pec, as well as previous winners Derek Bischak, Mike Fedorcak, Jim Anderson, and Thomas Briggs.

During the two-day event, more than 300 competitors will compete in events than span 15 divisions, with the Midgets being the main attraction.

The events are scheduled for Dec. 29 and 30, with gates opening at 11 a.m. both days. Multiple divisions will compete throughout the day leading up to the opening ceremonies, which kick-off at 7 p.m., followed by full program of Midget, Winged and Non-Winged 600 heats and features.

Nearly 40 drivers will compete in the 1/7-mile concrete oval track. Stewart's 10 wins at the event is a record that he hopes to extend.
