Drones have literally been all the buzz the last few years. These remote controlled aircrafts can do some pretty amazing things and with cameras mounted on top, we have been able to watch their evolution unfold right in front of our eyes.
Until now, drones have been recreational toys used to just simply cruise around or to film cool footage from above. What ESPN is hoping for is a whole new sport that could be, "Bigger than football." Drone racing has blown up and ESPN wants to take it main stream. And why not? Think back to your favorite "Star Wars" scenes, does this footage remind you of any?
Who knows if they will succeed in becoming "Bigger than football" like every small time league aspires to, but they can count us in as fans.
