The Duel was tough on cars on Thursday.

Seven drivers are going to have to go to backup cars as the result of wrecks at the race designed to determine position at the Daytona 500.

Brad Keselowski, Dave Gilliland, William Byron, Jimmie Johnson, Aric Almirola, Kyle Larson and Matt DiBenedetto all have some quick work to do and get used to their backup cars, as per ESPN.

Here's how some of these happened.

As Ricky Stenhouse Jr. made a move on David Gilliland, he got right up on the number 92's rear quarter panel and Gilliland lost control.

Jimmie Johnson had a problem -- maybe a tire issue -- and slammed into Almirola.

Kes ran into Jamie McMurray and paid the price.
