Ryan Blaney is in the thick of a NASCAR Monster Energy Cup championship, but that isn't keeping the young driver from dreaming about next year.

"I would love to do it," Blaney told motorsport.com. "I have a lot of respect for the people that have done it.

"It" is the ironman of racing; driving in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in one day. 1100 miles in the span of about 6 hours, not counting the roughly 400 miles flying from Indy to Charlotte.

"When Kurt [Busch] and Tony [Stewart] did it, I thought that was really neat," said Blaney. "It is something I have always wanted to do and hopefully I can do it one day. Maybe down the road."

The chances of it happening are much better now with Blaney's upcoming move from Wood Brothers to Penske Racing, which fields both NASCAR and IndyCar teams.

"The Penske group is pretty good at the Indy 500 so hopefully I will get that chance. My interest level is really high and I would love to do it to say I was a part of it and able to race that event."

The Memorial Day weekend races are huge events for both drivers and fans. And the drivers who have managed to pull off both are in very select company. For all his young success in NASCAR, Blaney would love to put his name alongside Andretti, Gordon, Stewart, and Busch.
