Matt Tifft has raced in 39 races for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series over the last three years, but he is joining another team full-time next season.
Tifft signed a multi-year deal to join Richard Childress Racing for the 2018 season and beyond, and he will drive the No. 2 Chevrolet. The 21-year-old drives the No. 19 Toyota for JGR this season, and he qualified for the Xfinity Series playoffs.
He said in a statement that he is grateful for the chance to race for Richard Childress Racing.
"I am very appreciative and grateful for the opportunity to race for a championship and grow as a driver under one the most successful and historic teams in NASCAR," Tifft said. "RCR has a long history of developing partnerships through its Xfinity Series program.

Tifft also tweeted out a note thanking Joe Gibbs Racing for giving him a chance the last few years, and he further expressed his excitement for his move.
Childress said in a statement that he has been impressed with Tifft's ability, and he's looking forward having him on the team for the foreseeable future.
Tifft has 15 top 10s and three top 5s during his Xfinity Series career.
