"Sherry and I really appreciate everyone here for everything you have done to get the word out for the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and the programs we're involved with," Truex said after receiving his latest award, "There's no way we could do what we do without your support. Thank you."

The tour of a NASCAR champion is full of events like these, and Truex hasn't even had much time off between events designed to honor his achievement.

"It's been crazy, a whirlwind tour. People keep asking me how the off-season went," Truex said. "And I said, 'What off-season?' It's been busy, but it's been a lot of fun. It's been fun to reflect and celebrate with the team here and there. Got to do a lot of fun things. And it's not over yet. Going to the Super Bowl next week. There's been a lot of fun stuff that we've been able to do, but it's amazing how time flies."

He better find some time to rest, because his championship defense starts in less than a month.
