Erik Jones is moving on from the No. 77 car after the 2017 season to take over the No. 20 car for Matt Kenseth and Joe Gibbs Racing.
That leaves a spot to be filled in the No. 77 Toyota for Furniture Row Racing, and Kyle Larson has already recommended someone to team owner Barney Visser.
"I definitely think you have to have Christopher Bell at the top of that list (of young, talented drivers)," Larson said via NASCAR.com. "I got to see his potential a couple years before he ever made it to truck (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series).
"Seeing how good he is, I don't know what the Furniture Row situation is, but I hope Bell gets to go in the No. 77. There are so many kids in dirt racing that deserve an opportunity to make it."
The 22-year-old Bell has won five races in the Truck Series over the last three years, and he is scheduled to run eight Xfinity Series events this season.
Larson is one of the biggest young stars in the sport, but he isn't even employed by Furniture Row Racing. He's with Chip Ganassi Racing, so he probably doesn't have much sway with Visser and FRR.
Many teams are picking young drivers to take over for veteran drivers, so Bell is likely already under consideration for the No. 77 car.
