After winning Stage 2, one driver's day went up in flames at Texas

Kyle Larson won Stage 2 at Texas, but the final stage in the race didn't go so well for him.

Larson went into the wall in Turn 4 with 52 laps to go, and his 42 car suffered a considerable amount of damage and went up in flames.

Here's Larson hitting the wall, which led to the flames and smoke from his car.

The red flag came out to clean up after Larson's wreck, and the hits keep piling up for Larson down the stretch.

He suffered engine failure in the Round of 12 finale, and that knocked him out of the playoffs. He has struggled in races since, and today's crash only added to his late season misery.

Larson is one of the top young drivers in the sport and he'll certainly be a contender next season and likely beyond, but he'll look back on the 2017 season and wonder what could have been.
