We've heard of tight driving before and of tight corners, but Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso takes the term to a different plane.
The 36-year-old Formula 1 champ was doing a test run in a United Autosports LMP2 race car in preparation for the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Rolex 24 in Daytona January 27th & 28th. This was the first time Alonso has had a chance to drive the 3.56-mile, high banked roval...and it proved to be, let's just say, a little uncomfortable.
"The biggest thing, so far, is the seatbelts," Alonso told autoweek.com. "You know, the one that goes between our legs. It uh, needs to be longer. So, uh, yeah, that was the biggest challenge that we need to figure out."
You have to figure a world champ like Alonso has been in some tight squeezes before, but this one maybe hit too close to home. Other than that, he made a point in saying "so far, so good."
