Post-race inspection means awful news for Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs racing

Oh no.

Denny Hamlin had his thrilling win at Darlington encumbered and Joe Gibbs racing's crew chief  was hit with a $50,000 fine after a NASCAR post-race inspection uncovered an L1 violation.

NASCAR announced the news via its website, NASCAR.com.

The No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing was flagged for a rear suspension violation.

Crew chief Mike Wheeler was slapped with $50,000 fine and suspended for two races. The team lost 25 owner points and 25 driver points, in addition to Hamlin's first-place finish being ruled encumbered.

That wasn't the only bad news for JGR. In the XFINITY Series, the No. 18  was also flagged for a rear suspension violation. Crew chief Eric Phillips was fined $25,000 and suspended from two races.
