Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis results: Kyle Larson wins

Kyle Larson has added another crown jewel to his collection by winning the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Larson captured the win under caution after Ryan Preece crashed in double overtime. NASCAR waited and then threw the caution flag after Larson took the white flag.

Tyler Reddick crossed the line second. Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, and Bubba Wallace rounded out the top five.

A caution for Kyle Busch crashing from sixth place with three laps to go initially sent the race to its first overtime. All of the drivers in the top 10 except Larson questioned whether they could make it to the end of the race on fuel, but the majority didn't dare pit.

Only Denny Hamlin and Zane Smith pitted from the top 10 to top off their cars.

Brad Keselowski, the leader, ran out before the restart, and he pulled down pit road. This moved Larson to the front row, which is the opportunity he used to take the lead. A massive crash then unfolded in Turn 1 and collected several cars. This included Alex Bowman, John Hunter Nemechek, Daniel Hemric, and Hamlin.

This crash sent the race to double overtime and led to a red flag delay so NASCAR could clean up the track. The red flag delay lasted 17 minutes and eight seconds and then drivers were able to fire their engines once again and prepare for double overtime.

Once the green flag waved, Larson cleared Blaney for the lead while Reddick moved into second place. He continued to hold his spot at the front of the pack until the caution flew to end the race.

Larson now has 27 wins in his career, including three crown jewels. He has won the Coca-Cola 600, Southern 500, and Brickyard 400. The only thing missing is the Daytona 500. Larson is also the points leader once again after capturing his series-high fourth win of the season.

Stage 1: Denny Hamlin won stage 1 over Kyle Larson. Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Michael McDowell, Alex Bowman, Ty Gibbs, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Noah Gragson all received stage points.

Stage 2: Bubba Wallace won stage 2. Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, John Hunter Nemechek, Tyler Reddick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Martin Truex Jr. Christopher Bell, and Chase Briscoe all scored stage points.
