Ford’s “Terminator” has aged well TheSmokingTire /YouTube:

The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah is back, this time with a mostly stock, but still pretty sweet, 2003 Mustang Cobra, better known as the “Terminator.”

Peter Lally celebrated his 18th birthday by taking his Mustang out on the road with Farah, showcasing a great example of what a well-designed and maintained stock car can do. With a 431 HP V8 engine producing 428 lb-ft of torque, it’s no wonder Lally only deemed it necessary to tweak the suspension a bit before unleashing his car on the road.

But every car has it’s faults, and early-2000’s Mustangs definitely weren’t perfect. The car rattles like a vibraslap when it hits a bump and sounds something awful when the door slams shut. But quiet interiors and smooth rides weren’t the “Terminator’s” mission; it was designed to get from to point A to point B, in a straight line, very quickly. And it does that extremely well, even over a decade down the road.
