This race is the first for Xfinity teams since Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 20. Riley Herbst won after a late battle with Aric Almirola.

Playoff picture: The last time the Xfinity teams competed, another driver locked up a playoff spot. Riley Herbst won at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and locked himself into the 12-driver field.
The other drivers with secure spots are Cole Custer (one win), Jesse Love (one win), Justin Allgaier (one win), Sam Mayer (two wins), Chandler Smith (two wins), Austin Hill (two wins), and Shane van Gisbergen (three wins).
Herbst's win left a mere four spots in the playoff field heading into the three-week break.
Allmendinger, who announced he will return to Cup competition in 2025, is in the best position ahead of Saturday's race. He has a 102-point cushion between him and the playoff cutline. He is 73 points ahead of Sheldon Creed, who sits 69 points above the cutline.
Parker Kligerman is next at 46 points above the cutline. Ryan Sieg holds the final playoff spot, but he is only three points ahead of Sammy Smith. Brandon Jones is behind Smith as he enters Michigan 69 points below the cutline.
