With a 10th-place finish yesterday at Phoenix Raceway, JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier punched his ticket to the Championship 4 race at Homestead, but he'll be competing in that race with an all-new crew chief.

Following the Ticket Galaxy 200, NASCAR officials discovered his No. 7 Chevy had an unattached brake cooling hose during routine inspections, which is a L1-level penalty. This means the team will likely be fined $10,000, suffer a 10-point deduction, and crew chief Jason Burdett will be suspended for one race, according to NASCAR.com.

Going into such an important race without the crew chief you're comfortable with is a major blow.

The good news for the No. 7 team is they have the right to appeal any penalty and NASCAR will expedite the process to make sure everything is in place before the season finale.

On the season, the 31-year-old Allgaier has one pole, two wins, and 17 top-10s.

Allgaier will be competing in the Champion 4 race along with his JR Motorsports teammates William Byron and Elliott Sadler, as well as Daniel Hemric , who drives for Richard Childress Racing.

All four drivers in the hunt for the XFINITY Series title drive for Team Chevy.
