William Byron pulls double duty during Kansas weekend

William Byron has added another start to his 2025 schedule. He will pull double duty at Kansas Speedway while pursuing another Craftsman Truck Series win.

According to a Monday announcement, Byron will join Spire Motorsports once again as he heads to the 1.5-mile track. He will drive the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado while making his second Truck Series start this season.

This double duty weekend will mark Byron's third time controlling a Spire Motorsports truck. He won his first race with the team at Martinsville Speedway back in 2022, and then he finished 14th at Martinsville Speedway earlier this season.

Byron, who only ran one full-time season in the Truck Series, achieved success in his lone start at Kansas Speedway. He led 34 laps and won the 2016 race while driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. This was one of seven trips to victory lane that season for the North Carolina native.

Byron will now return as he pulls double duty, and he will try to get his first Truck Series win since the 2022 season. He will be teammates with full-time drivers Rajah Caruth and Andres Perez.

He will also work alongside fellow Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar, who makes his second consecutive start in the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado.

Byron and Hocevar will be two of the guest drivers in a smaller, 31-truck lineup at Kansas Speedway. Brandon Jones will make another start for Tricon Garage while Morgan Baird will drive for Reaume Brothers Racing. Luke Baldwin will make another start for ThorSport Racing.

The weekend will begin for Byron on Saturday. He will take part in Truck Series practice and qualifying at 2:05 p.m. ET (FS2). He will then climb into his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet for Cup Series practice and qualifying at 4:30 p.m. ET (Prime Video).

Byron will then cap off Saturday with a night race at Kansas Speedway. He and the other competitors will take on the 1.5-mile track at 7:30 p.m. ET (FS1).
