R.J. Gottlieb and the crew of the Big Red decided to stretch its legs at the Mojave 1.5 Mile Runway Challenge back in 2015 and they definitely turned heads. After easing her out and letting her loose she managed to top out at an astounding 251 miles per hour! It might have taken right off from the ground it it hadn't been for clever engineering and some custom aerodynamic modifications.
