#25: Ty Dillon, Rackley W.A.R, Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado

Ty Dillon takes on new role with Rackley W.A.R. driver change

Rackley W.A.R. has made a driver change ahead of a trip to Kansas Speedway. As a result, Ty Dillon will take on a new role with the Craftsman Truck Series organization.

According to a press release, Dawson Sutton will take over the No. 25 Chevrolet Silverado. He will begin his transition from Pro and Super Late Model competition to NASCAR while continuing to drive for Rackley W.A.R.

Dillon, meanwhile, will remain with the Truck Series team. He will become a driver coach and mentor, working to support Sutton.

"We are super thankful for the job Ty has done for us this year as our primary driver," said Willie Allen, team co-owner, in a statement. "We appreciate his willingness to take on an additional role and help Dawson grow and develop as a young driver for the remainder of the NASCAR Truck Series season.

"We look forward to Ty's continued valuable input and support in the ongoing development of our race program."

Sutton has made two Truck Series starts this season, both for Rackley WAR. He made his debut at North Wilkesboro Speedway in May and finished 28th. He then returned to the series at Nashville Superspeedway, his home track, and finished 18th.

Dillon took over the No. 25 Rackley W.A.R. Chevrolet at the start of the season. He made 18 starts in the entry and posted an average finish of 19.5 with one DNF. His best finishes were ninth at Darlington in the spring and ninth at Richmond in August.

"I am thankful to everyone at Rackley W.A.R. for the opportunity to make my return to the Truck Series," Dillon said in a statement.

"I look forward to mentoring Dawson for the remainder of this season, and am very excited to focus on my future plans behind the wheel in 2025."

Rackley W.A.R. made its NASCAR debut in 2021 with a variety of drivers controlling the No. 25 Chevrolet Silverado. Allen made two starts while Brett Moffitt made one. Josh Berry made nine starts and Timothy Peters made 10.

William Byron also made one start for Rackley W.A.R. in 2021 while driving the No 27 Chevrolet.

The team brought in Matt DiBenedetto in 2022 to serve as the full-time driver. The veteran delivered a win at Talladega Superspeedway. DiBenedetto then returned to the entry last season and made the playoffs on points.

However, DiBenedetto and the team parted ways with three races remaining in the season. Chandler Smith, Stefon Parsons, and Trevor Bayne finished out the season schedule while sharing the No. 25.
