Cup series driver may have to leave right before the race starts, has replacement standing by

The NASCAR baby boom continues.

Bob Pockrass of ESPN notes that Daniel Hemric is standing by in case Ty Dillon -- who is on baby watch -- has to leave before the race starts.

Hemric has found himself in this position before. Just last week, he qualified for Paul Menard, whose wife just had a baby.

Since Hemric qualified in the No. 27 Chevrolet for Menard, NASCAR rules say Menard had to start from the rear.

That's a small price to pay.
