Spire Motorsports continues to make moves aimed toward contending for wins and titles. The organization has added another champion to the No. 7 team's roster.
According to an announcement made on Friday, spotter Eddie D'Hondt is moving to Spire Motorsports in 2025 and beyond after signing a multi-year deal. He will now stand on the roof while guiding Justin Haley each week of the season.

D'Hondt currently serves as the spotter for Cup Series rookie Josh Berry at Stewart-Haas Racing. The duo joined forces ahead of the season as Berry replaced a retiring Kevin Harvick in the No. 4 Ford Mustang. D'Hondt has since helped guide the rookie to two top-five finishes and four top-10s.
Before joining Stewart-Haas Racing, D'Hondt was a mainstay at Hendrick Motorsports. He was Jeff Gordon's spotter for eight of the Hall of Fame driver's wins. This included Gordon's final win at Martinsville Speedway in 2015.
D'Hondt joined forces with Chase Elliott after Gordon's retirement. He guided the Georgia native to 18 of his 19 career Cup Series wins, which includes Elliott's first career win at Watkins Glen International.
D'Hondt was also the spotter for the No. 9 team during the championship campaign in 2020.
The veteran spotter is not the only champion joining the No. 7 team's roster in 2025. He will also continue working with one of NASCAR's winningest crew chiefs.
Spire Motorsports announced in early July that it had signed crew chief Rodney Childers to a multi-year deal starting in 2025. The organization said that Childers would move from Stewart-Haas Racing to Spire Motorsports so that he could take over the No. 7 team.
Corey LaJoie was set to be the driver of the No. 7 at the time, but the team announced weeks later that the veteran driver would not return for 2025. Spire and Rick Ware Racing then pulled off a midseason trade for Haley and LaJoie that went into effect at Kansas Speedway.
Childers and D'Hondt currently work together on the No. 4 team, and they will continue to do so in 2025 and beyond as they try to help Haley win more Cup Series races.
