Shane van Gisbergen has only made 68 national NASCAR series starts, but he has already joined Kyle Busch in the NASCAR record books with a pair of wins.
The three-time Supercars champion swept the race weekend on the streets of Chicago after starting from the pole. He led 27 laps in the Xfinity Series race and won for JR Motorsports on Saturday. He then led 26 laps in the Cup Series race and won for Trackhouse Racing on Sunday.
Ty Gibbs crossed the finish line in second place. Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin, and Busch rounded out the top five. The rest of the top 10 included AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Preece, Alex Bowman, Austin Hill, and Ross Chastain.

Van Gisbergen is only the second driver in NASCAR history to win the pole for both the Xfinity and Cup races in a single weekend before winning both. Busch previously did so in 2016 at one of NASCAR's biggest tracks.
The future Hall of Famer won the pole for the Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He then led 62 of the 63 laps before winning. One day later, Busch started from the pole in the Cup Series race. He led 149 of the 170 laps and won a crown jewel.
Joining Busch in the record books is a significant feat for van Gisbergen, but it's not the most important takeaway from this race weekend in Chicago. What matters at this point is that the New Zealand native now has two wins on the season.
A win in Mexico City took van Gisbergen from outside the top 30 in points to a spot in the playoffs. Sunday's race in Chicago gave him an advantage over other drivers who only have one win. He also added another five playoff points to his total.
Van Gisbergen is now up to 27th in the Cup Series standings. He has two more main opportunities to stockpile points. The Cup Series heads to Sonoma Raceway next weekend, a track where van Gisbergen won in the Xfinity Series.
The series then heads to Watkins Glen International before the end of the regular season. The Trackhouse Racing driver finished second behind Chris Buescher in last season's playoff race at the New York road course.
