Sebring takes center stage in HGTV's 'Home Town Takeover'

HGTV has put Sebring, Florida, under the spotlight as two of the channel's biggest stars have revitalized the heart of the city.

Sebring, home to Sebring International Raceway and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, was the focus of the third season of "Home Town Takeover." HGTV hosts Ben and Erin Napier spent four months renovating the downtown area of the city, which sits around a circular park.

As part of the renovation process, the duo and their crew transformed small businesses and homes. This includes Sebring Soda, which hosts the annual Sebring Soda Fest. They also modernized the Circle Theater, added murals to downtown, and helped Sophie's Cafe open a second location.

Sebring International Raceway also took part in the HGTV show. Ben spent part of the season's fifth episode living out a dream. He hopped behind the wheel of a purple Porsche and completed laps around the 17-turn, 3.741-mile road course.

The season finale of "Home Town Takeover" in Sebring aired on Sunday, April 13. It will air again on Friday, April 18, at 3 p.m. on HGTV. The full season is available to stream on HGTV through Discovery+, Hulu, and other streaming services.

This trip to Sebring is not the first time that the Napiers have crossed paths with the racing community. They previously spent a considerable amount of time with fellow Mississippi native Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Back in January 2022, the Hyak Motorsports driver appeared on an episode of "Home Town: Ben's Workshop." This Discovery+ show featured the NASCAR driver and Ben teaming up to build a pair of custom benches for the Laurel City Fire Department.

The relationship goes back even further as Stenhouse supported the Napiers when they originally launched their mercantile. The HGTV hosts also attended a 2017 race at Talladega Superspeedway and sat on Stenhouse's pit box. He started from the pole while driving for RFK Racing -- then Roush Fenway Racing -- and he won the race.
