Legendary World Rally driver Sebastien Loeb is returning to the course in 2018.

Loeb, a 9-time WRC champion, is rejoining his old team Citroen for three rounds in Corsica, Mexico, and Spain.

"The feeling you get in rally is one of the most thrilling feelings I have ever experienced, and I was excited about driving one of these new WRC [cars] in a race," Loeb told motorsport.com. "And it's nice to be able to do it in the team with which I have enjoyed so much success!"

Loeb is the most successful driver in WRC history, winning the championship 9 years in a row from 2004-2012. The three races in 2018 will be Loeb's first entry into World Rally Championship racing since he was an entry in the 2015 Monte Carlo Rally.

"I thought it made sense to take part in the French round, especially since I've always loved racing on tarmac, although I'm not familiar with the current route of the Tour de Corse," Loeb said. "Spain seemed like a good option too."

In addition to the three races for Citroen, Loeb will drive in the Dakar Rally and World Rallycross Championship with Citroen's sister brand Peugeot.
