In what can only be described as amazing, one former NASCAR driver is preparing for his 50th year in racing.
For those that know Scott Pruett, know that first and foremost he's a race car driver. That's just what he does. So it comes as no surprise that he's gearing up for the half-century mark of his racing career as he prepares for the season with the 3GT Racing IMSA team, according to racer.com
"In 2018, it will make 50 years that I've been racing," Pruett said in an interview with Racer. "My first race, which was in a kart, was in Lodi, California, in 1968 when I was eight years old."
He acknowledges that the upcoming season is a big one for him and knows that it's truly special to still be doing what he loves after so many years.
"It's a pretty big year for me coming up, and I know there aren't many of us who can say they've been doing this continually for all these decades," added Pruett.

Pruett will be 58 years old this coming March. He's scheduled to a 3GT Lexus RC F GT3 for the Rolex 24 at Daytona next month. The details for the remainder of his 2018 season are unknown at this time. But he will be at Daytona and he will be in a Lexus.
"I am training and working hard as I always do for Daytona, I'll be in a Lexus, and that's all I can say right now," Pruett said.
Pruett saw his 2017 entry in the Rolex 24 end early after crashing. He's look forward to next month's race and is optimistic that they will have a much better outing than last year.
"We didn't have a lot of miles under our belt, and I think we're going to be in a great place when we go back with all we have learned," Pruett said.
