The driver of the No. 60 Ford Mustang is taking on a new style of "race car." Ryan Preece will return to his home state for an action-packed Crown Victoria race.
Preece will join the field for Friday night's New England 900 at Stafford Speedway in Connecticut. This event, created by Cleetus McFarland, will feature a packed lineup of drivers battling at the .520-mile short track in identical Ford Crown Victorias.

The lineup will include some other big names. This includes Truck Series and Xfinity Series champion Greg Biffle, Nitro Circus performer Jim York, digital creator/4x4 enthusiast JH Diesel, and content creator Westen Champlin among others.
The Crown Victoria battle will take place on Friday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The event at Stafford Speedway is sold out, but others interested can watch digitally on the FRDM+ platform.
This streaming service, which has a large variety of motorsports content, requires a subscription. It is $19.99 per month or $119 for the annual plan.
Preece will enter the event as one of the figures to watch based on his previous experience at the Connecticut short track. This is a venue where he has competed numerous times while enjoying considerable success.
The RFK Racing driver has made dozens of starts at Stafford Speedway in a Modified. He has celebrated nine wins. Two of these wins featured Preece leading more than 100 laps before capturing the checkered flag. This includes a 2021 event when he started from the pole.
According to Stafford Speedway, only three drivers have more Modified wins at the track than Preece. Doug Coby and Ted Christopher both have 12 wins. Mike Stefanik, a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, scored 20 Modified wins at Stafford Speedway.
Obviously, a Modified entry is wildly different than a Ford Crown Victoria, but Preece's experience will still potentially provide an advantage as he tries to secure a unique win.
