Team Penske gets terrific sponsorship news

Heading into next season Team Penske will be expanding its relationship with a longtime sponsor and Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 will be the beneficiary.

Team Penske has an established, long-running relationship with PPG, now in their 34th year of working together.

The company has solidified its commitment by becoming a primary sponsor of the No. 12 Ford Fusion, to be driven by Blaney in six races next season, according to mrn.com. In addition to their primary sponsor duties, PPG will also be an associate sponsor for Blaney, one of the biggest up-and-coming name sin the sport.

PPG will also continue to serve as associate sponsors for Team Penske in the IndyCar Series, as well as both DJR Team Penske entries, racing in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

"PPG has been a trusted and valued partner with Team Penske for over 30 years as one of our longest-tenured sponsors," Roger Penske said. "It has been exciting to see the partnership grow over the last three plus decades and we will work together as we continue to build the PPG brand through an increased presence with our team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series."

Of the six races Blaney will drive the PPG No.12, two of them will be playoff races, including Las Vegas and Phoenix.

"Having Ryan Blaney behind the wheel of a Team Penske car, sponsored by PPG, is going to make for a thrilling season, one we're really looking forward to," said PPG, vice president, global automotive refinish, John Outcalt. "Penske and PPG have always had a winning tradition."

While the 2018 season will kick off at Daytona on February. 18, PPG's first race as a primary sponsor will be March. 18 at the Auto Club 400 in Fontana.
