A change is taking place at RSS Racing as the team aims to move up the NASCAR Xfinity Series owner standings.
According to an announcement, Ryan Sieg will move from the No. 39 to the No. 28 Ford. His brother, Kyle Sieg, will move from the No. 28 to the No. 39 Ford.
As the team explained on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, "The goal is to help improve the 28 owner points position for the start of the 2025 season."
Unlike the Cup Series, Xfinity teams do not have charters that guarantee entry into every race. They must qualify each week on speed. If there are more entries than spots on the starting grid, the owner standings will play a role in which cars make the race.
The No. 39 RSS Racing Ford is currently 14th in the Xfinity Series standings with 705 points. The older Sieg has controlled the entry all season while posting seven top-10 finishes, three top-fives, and an average finish of 15.0 in 28 races.
Sieg also missed out on his first career Xfinity Series win by 0.002 seconds at Texas Motor Speedway. JR Motorsports driver Sam Mayer narrowly won in a photo finish.
Kyle, the younger Sieg, has made 26 starts in Xfinity this season. He missed the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway after being one of six drivers to fail to qualify on speed.
Kyle also missed the road course race at Circuit of the Americas in March. RSS Racing put Kaz Grala in the No. 28 Ford for the event. However, Grala was one of three drivers who failed to qualify for the road course race.
The younger Sieg has one top-10 finish this season, which he secured last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. He has an average finish of 22.6.
The No. 28 of RSS Racing is 29th in the Xfinity Series owner standings after competing in 26 of the 28 races. It has 358 points, putting it just behind the No. 92 of DGM Racing.
