Ross Chastain lands new sponsor for Xfinity starts

Ross Chastain has expanded his sponsor portfolio after joining JR Motorsports for a limited Xfinity Series schedule.

The Florida native will have Acceptance Insurance as his primary partner for five races, starting with the trip to Circuit of the Americas. The company will showcase its white, blue, and green scheme on the No. 9 as Chastain pursues multiple wins.

The rest of the Acceptance Insurance schedule includes Darlington Raceway on April 5, Nashville Superspeedway on May 31, Dover Motor Speedway on July 19, and Iowa Speedway on Aug. 2.

"I'm excited to get to COTA with Acceptance Insurance on the car and for the other four Xfinity Series races we have coming up," Chastain said in a press release.

"Trackhouse Racing, Justin Marks, Acceptance Insurance, and JR Motorsports have helped provide me with an opportunity to get more seat time in the Xfinity Series, which I'm really looking forward to."

While Acceptance Insurance is a new partner for Chastain, the company has taken on NASCAR before. It served as Shane van Gisbergen's primary sponsor for Cup races at Darlington, Atlanta, and Martinsville last season.

This five-race deal is part of a larger partnership between JR Motorsports and Trackhouse Racing. Two drivers in the Trackhouse lineup will make multiple Xfinity starts while sharing the No. 9 Chevrolet.

Chastain will take on five races for JR Motorsports while working with Acceptance Insurance. Shane van Gisbergen will take on four races.

The New Zealand native will kick off his schedule at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City on May 14. He will also drive the No. 9 Chevy on the streets of Chicago on July 5, at Sonoma Raceway on July 12, and at Watkins Glen International on Aug. 9.

"I'm trying to get as much experience as I can," said van Gisbergen, who competes full-time in Cup this season, in January. "JR Motorsports is one of the top teams and won the championship with Justin Allgaier. I can't wait to get started."
