Ross Chastain bares it all with Richmond Cup scheme

The No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet is going to provide a unique look at Ross Chastain this Sunday at Richmond Raceway.

The Florida native will bare it all as part of a "see-through" scheme from Jockey International. The white car will feature a depiction of Chastain wearing nothing but a pair of Jockey Infinite Cool boxer briefs. Of course, safety is paramount, so he will still have a helmet and gloves.

The purpose of the unique scheme is twofold -- to highlight the cooling mesh pouch with Jockey Heatwick technology and to remind NASCAR fans to wear high-quality undergarments.

"I love this unique collaboration with Jockey," Chastain said in a statement. "The new paint scheme is a cheeky way to showcase the incredible comfort of Jockey Infinite Cool underwear. Racing in the summer heat can be intense, and knowing I've got the best cooling gear on makes all the difference. I can't wait to hit the track and see the fans' reactions!"

Chastain is not the only member of Trackhouse Racing to showcase this head-turning Jockey scheme. Teammate Daniel Suarez will also do so during the Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 18.

"Having dynamic partners like Trackhouse Racing allows us to push the boundaries of traditional paint schemes and showcase the Jockey brand and our innovative underwear and apparel in a memorable and impactful way," said Tom Hutchison, VP of Marketing at Jockey.

"Ross and Daniel's willingness to fully embrace this bold Jockey Infinite Cool design speaks volumes about their shared commitment to make a statement on the track."

Sunday's race at Richmond is one of four remaining opportunities for Chastain to win his way into the playoffs and join Suarez in the 16-driver field. He has a tentative spot based on points, but he is the last driver above the playoff cutline. 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace is a mere seven points back.

Chastain has made 11 starts at Richmond Raceway, though the first four were with Premium Motorsports, a team with only two top-10 finishes in 297 races. His best finish at Richmond in this stretch was 28th in 2018.

Since moving to Chip Ganassi Racing and then Trackhouse Racing, the Florida native has six top-20 finishes, two top-10s, and one top-five. His best finish at Richmond was third during last season's spring race.
