The No. 43 Plymouth Superbird will make its return to a track this weekend, albeit on a different continent.
The 1970 Plymouth Superbird, which Petty used to win 18 NASCAR races, will be part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 11-14. This festival features motorsports drivers and enthusiasts racing up a hill course in a wide variety of vehicles.
The 1970 Plymouth Superbird will be part of the festivities on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This time, Kyle Petty will be the one in control of the iconic racing machine. Meanwhile, the seven-time champion will join the Duke of Richmond for a special balcony moment celebrating all of his racing accomplishments.

"Here we are at Goodwood," Kyle said in a video on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "You can see the car. It's in a tent. It's not in the Richard Petty Museum like it usually is."
Petty's former race car is one of the many vehicles making the trek up the hill in West Sussex. There will be many others, including the Koenigsegg CC850, an F1 car from Williams Racing, the new all-electric Ford Capri, and the Lancia LC2 race car.
Fans interested in watching the 1970 Plymouth Superbird and other standout vehicles can tune in virtually. The Goodwood Festival of Speed hosts a livestream so that motorsports enthusiasts don't miss a moment.
"Richard has been an incredible supporter of the Festival of Speed and I am delighted he and his family are able to join us as the Petty dynasty marks 75 years in motorsport," the Duke of Richmond said in a statement ahead of the festival.
"We know fans will be eager to see the 1970 Plymouth Superbird take to the Goodwood Hill and applaud Richard during his balcony moment at the weekend."
Stock car racing has made its mark on the Goodwood Festival of Speed in years past. The Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro, which NASCAR used to compete in last year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, was a standout example.
The Hendrick Motorsports-built Chevrolet headed to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with both Jenson Button and Mike Rockenfeller taking time behind the wheel. They conducted burnouts in front of the crowd and then went up the hill.
The No. 5 Tide car made famous by Ricky Rudd was also present for the festival, as was another car from Petty's collection.
