Childress Vineyards, Rebel Bourbon team up for unique release

Childress Vineyards and Rebel Bourbon have teamed up to create a unique, limited-edition release -- the Rebel 100 Childress Vineyards Cabernet Franc Barrel Finish.

Rebel Bourbon, the official bourbon of Richard Childress Racing, took its wheated recipe, which was aged for four years. The Kentucky-based company then finished the recipe in Childress Vineyards Cabernet Franc barrels and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

According to a press release, this created a bourbon featuring flavor notes of sweet plums, honey, and bright berries. Five hundred cases of this unique creation will now be available starting this month at North Carolina ABC stores and Lux Row Distillers.

"We selected the Cabernet Franc barrels from Childress Vineyards because we wanted to craft a smooth, high-proof bourbon with tasting notes of sweet berry, oak, caramel, vanilla, and spice," said Lux Row Distillers Master Distiller John Rempe in a statement.

"Cabernet Franc was the perfect match for our wheated Rebel recipe, and the result is incredible."

This Rebel 100 Childress Vineyards Cabernet Franc Barrel Finish is not the first unique collaboration between the Welcome-based company and Rebel Bourbon.

Back in February, the company also unveiled the Kyle Busch 108 Single Barrel Bourbon limited-edition release. This run featured hand-bottled barrels selected by the two-time Cup Series champion.

"From racing to winemaking, Richard and the RCR team embody the true spirit of being a Rebel," said Rebel Bourbon Brand Manager Philip Lux.

"We're proud to once again team up with RCR and create a unique bourbon that is sure to make racing fans, wine lovers, and bourbon aficionados take notice."

Rebel Bourbon first joined forces with Busch and Richard Childress Racing last season during a trip to Richmond Raceway. The company then sponsored the No. 8 team at World Wide Technology Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

This deal was for multiple seasons, which ensured that Rebel Bourbon would return for 2025. So far, the distiller has taken over the No. 8 Chevrolet at Circuit of the Americas and Kansas Speedway.
