Paul Menard may not make today's race at Kansas for a very good reason

The green flag for today's NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway is set to waive at 3 p.m., but fans shouldn't expect to see veteran driver Paul Menard race today.

That's because the 37-year old Menard is currently on baby watch as his wife Jennifer is expected to deliver the couple's second child at any time, according to a report by ESPN.

If Menard does in fact miss the race, taking his place in the Richard Childress Racing No. 27 Chevrolet will be Daniel Hemric. Hemric is currently 7th in the XFINITY Series point standings.

Martin Truex Jr. will start from the pole in today's Hollywood Casino 400, which will be televised on NBCSN.
