Prime Video Sports announces Dale Earnhardt documentary series

Prime Video Sports has announced the upcoming release of a new documentary series focusing on the life and career of seven-time Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt.

"Earnhardt" will be available as a four-part series starting on Memorial Day weekend. It will feature a mix of archival footage from races and interviews. It will also have "emotionally revealing interviews" with his children, colleagues, and friends.

Imagine Documentaries, NASCAR Studios, and Everyone Else produced "Earnhardt" in association with Dirty Mo Media. Joshua Altman directed the series.

The list of executive producers included Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein, Christopher St. John, and Justin Wilkes of Imagine Documentaries; TJ Martin and Dan Lindsay of Everyone Else; and Tim Clark and John Dahl of NASCAR Studios.

The documentary focusing on the life and career of Earnhardt is only the latest significant move for Prime Video Sports, which joined NASCAR as a broadcast partner in the new TV deal.

The streamer has been the exclusive home of practice and qualifying for the Fox Sports portion of the Cup Series schedule. The Clash, the Daytona 500, and the upcoming All-Star Race were the only exceptions.

Prime Video Sports has also revealed its full broadcast lineup for its five-race portion of the Cup Series schedule. Adam Alexander will lead the booth while doing play-by-play for the races. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte will join him as analysts.

Marty Snider, Kim Coon, and Trevor Bayne will serve as pit reporters for the Prime Video Sports portion of the schedule. Danielle Trotta, Corey LaJoie, and Carl Edwards will helm the pre- and post-race studio show.

This portion of the schedule starts with the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day Weekend, which coincides with the release of the "Earnhardt" documentary series.

The Prime Video Sports schedule continues with Nashville Superspeedway on June 1, Michigan International Speedway on June 8, Mexico City on June 15, and Pocono Raceway on June 22.
