Pocono Truck Series results: Corey Heim dominates

|

Corey Heim has won for the first time at Pocono Raceway after a dominant evening in which he led 54 laps.

The Tricon Garage driver swept the two stages and held off challengers on a late restart. He then took the No. 11 Toyota to victory lane for the fifth time this season.

Grant Enfinger crossed the finish line second and matched his best finish of the season. Christian Eckes, Taylor Gray, and Ross Chastain rounded out the top five.

The caution flew with nine laps remaining in the race due to weather in the area. Heim was in the lead with Enfinger trying to chase him down. Eckes and Chastain were further back and desperately trying to save fuel.

The battles had to go on hold so that the drivers could head down pit road and wait to hear if the race would continue. NASCAR ultimately sent the drivers back out on track so they could try to complete the final three laps.

Heim jumped to the lead on the restart while Eckes nearly crashed after a push from behind. He kept the No. 19 moving forward and began challenging Enfinger for second place. Neither Eckes nor Enfinger could chase Heim down before the checkered flag flew.

Heim now has 10 career Truck Series wins in 55 starts.

Stage 1: Heim won the opening stage. Eckes, Tyler Ankrum, Daniel Dye, Enfinger, Ty Majeski, Nick Sanchez, Gray, Stewart Friesen, and Tanner Gray all scored stage points.

Stage 2: Heim won the second stage, giving him his second playoff point of the day. Eckes was second once again. Dye, Enfinger, Ankrum, Majeski, Chastain, Friesen, Tanner Gray, and Matt Mills all scored stage points.

Notable: Majeski entered the Pocono race 144 points above the playoff cutline. He scored 10 stage points while racing inside the top 10 in all three stages. However, he lost power with under 20 laps remaining and had to go to pit road so his team could change the battery. He finished 31st and could not clinch a playoff spot on points.

Next: Truck Series teams head to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 19 for a 200-lap race. FS1 will provide coverage at 8:30 p.m. ET.
