You just never know what you're going to see watching the Petit Le Mans in Atlanta, and this past weekend certainly didn't disappoint.

The WeatherTech Sports Car Championship finale had some predictable outcomes with Wayne Taylor Racing winning the Prototype season championship, but there was lots of action before the checkered flag.

In Prototypes, BlackFlag.com reports Jose Gutierrez was driving the #52 car when he veered over the gravel trap and slammed into the tire barrier, causing the car to go airborne.

Later, Robert Alon in the #14 Lexus RC F GT3 went wide coming into the start/finish line and slammed into the barrier. The impact spun the car several times, then you see the real danger. Flames appear under the hood and start to grow. Alon scrambles to get out of the car as course safety crews work to put the fire out.

Neither driver was seriously hurt in the crashes.
