Packers star gets unique IndyCar experience at Road America

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs will get a unique experience this weekend. He will take on The Fastest Seat in Sports while enjoying an outing at Road America.

According to the NTT INdyCar Series, Jacobs will climb into the two-seat IndyCar entry ahead of Sunday's XPEL Grand Prix in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin (1:30 p.m. ET on Fox). He will ride passenger during the race's opening pace laps, and he will help set the stage for a pivotal road course race.

Jacobs is the latest driver to take on the Fastest Seat in Sports, which has become a time-honored tradition in the open-wheel series. This list also includes former NFL player Tom Brady at the Indy 500 and former MLB player Alex Rodriguez in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The Fastest Seat in Sports featured other high-profile figures last season. This includes music artists Diplo, Jon Bon Jovi, and Riley Green. The two-seater also featured actors Judge Reinhold and Dylan Sprouse, reality TV star Mary Bonnet, and American Olympic gold medalist Sam Watson.

Jacobs, a championship-winning running back at the University of Alabama, is a newer resident of Wisconsin. He began his NFL career as a first-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2019.

He then spent five seasons with the Silver and Black while rushing for 5,545 yards and 46 touchdowns. He led the league in rushing yards in 2022 with 1,653, which helped him secure his second trip to the Pro Bowl.

Jacobs joined the Green Bay Packers last season and became a pivotal part of the offense. He rushed for 1,329 yards -- sixth-best in the NFL -- and a career-best 15 touchdowns. He earned his third trip to the Pro Bowl.

Now firmly entrenched in the Packers offense, Jacobs will return for another season in Green Bay. He will try to help the NFC North team take back the division from the rival Detroit Lions, so that they can have homefield advantage to start the playoffs.

First off, however, he will take in the sights and sounds of the fan-favorite Wisconsin road course.
