NASCAR has unveiled the full O'Reilly Auto Parts Series season schedule for 2026, one that features multiple changes. One of the biggest takeaways is the loss of Portland International Raceway.
The Oregon road course, which Xfinity teams will visit next weekend before switching to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, will not return for a fifth event. However, Executive Vice President and Chief Venue & Racing Innovations Officer Ben Kennedy told media members that NASCAR is not abandoning the Pacific Northwest.
Kennedy noted during a Wednesday media session that NASCAR continues to examine tracks in this market, which also includes Colorado as a potential destination.
Portland is not the only track departing the season schedule in 2026. The Chicago Street Race and the Mexico City race are both absent. Although NASCAR hopes to bring them back in 2027. San Diego will serve as the street race while Chicagoland Speedway will take over the Fourth of July weekend slot. Darlington Raceway will gain a second race while replacing Portland.
