Noah Gragson shows off new 'addiction'

Noah Gragson has found a new way to pass the time, something that he calls an addiction. He has jumped headfirst into the world of LEGO.

The Stewart-Haas Racing has provided glimpses of his LEGO love over the past few months on his social media channels, but he provided a full-on view during NASCAR's Olympic break. He showed off his ever-expanding collection of LEGO sets, which includes R2-D2, Thanos' gauntlet, an arcade machine, a Nintendo Entertainment System, and several Formula 1 cars.

"I got into LEGOs like a month ago," Gragson said in the video posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "Never thought I'd be 26 years old into LEGOs. Here I am, a full-on addiction. I spent way too much money on these things."

As Gragson explained, he didn't build all of the sets taking up a considerable amount of space in his home. Some members of the No. 10 team also contributed to the collection. One prominent example was the Empire State Building set that his engine tuner put together.

Gragson is not the only NASCAR Cup Series driver to showcase an appreciation for LEGO sets, especially the more complicated ones. He joins a group that also includes a Hendrick Motorsports driver.

Daytona 500 winner William Byron put his love of LEGO on display last season during an appearance on the Netflix documentary series, "NASCAR: Full Speed." The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet explained that putting the sets together fits his personality and that he needed something to keep his mind off of racing.

The documentary series showed multiple sets in Byron's collection, including James Bond's Aston Martin DB5, a space shuttle, and the LEGO Titanic set boasting more than 9,000 pieces. This Titanic set is also part of Gragson's collection, but he has not yet put it together.

The interesting thing about Byron's fondness for LEGO sets is that it has expanded to a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, one who used to drive for Hendrick Motorsports.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. began purchasing some sets of his own after talking to Byron early in the 2024 season. Earnhardt even purchased a LEGO Titanic of his own, which he began building at his vacation home.

Earnhardt revealed during an episode of "The Dale Jr. Download" that he also purchased the Millennium Falcon, the "Back to the Future" car, the "Ghostbusters" car, and a set from "Batman: The Animated Series." Like drivers before him, he has continued to add to his collection since that first purchase on eBay.

The LEGO "addiction" is growing in NASCAR and throughout some of the sport's top teams. The only thing remaining is for the Danish company to sponsor one of the drivers.
